Vanessa Klein is a nationally certified American Sign Language (ASL) and English Interpreter with 20 + years of experience. She has been involved with the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) community since high school, totaling 30 years. At the beginning of Vanessa’s career, she worked as an assistant in two different DHH classrooms and then later was a teacher for a DHH preschool class and later a middle school, life skills class.
Vanessa started actively interpreting in 2000 at California State University Northridge. That same year, she received her BA degree in Deaf Studies. In 2005, she started freelance interpreting for various local interpreting agencies. In 2008, she received her EIPA certification and later in 2010 her RID/NIC Advanced certification. Klein Interpreting & Translation Services, LLC was established January 2020.
Vanessa’s interpreting experience includes VRS, VRI, medical including ER visits, surgeries, and deliveries. More recently she has been interpreting for the news, CA wildfires and other natural disasters. Thus far, Vanessa’s interpreting experience has been at a national level, however, she has recently started working with agencies that provide interpreting services on an international level.
